OpenBuildings Speedikon 2023

The OpenBuildings product team is pleased to announce the availability of OpenBuildings Speedikon 2023 (23.00.00.xx) through the Software Downloads Portal or the Bentley CONNECT Center.

This version incorporates user-requested fixes and enhancements. It also includes security fixes and updates from MicroStation 2023. We appreciate you taking the time to share your input and ideas to help improve OpenBuildings Speedikon and MicroStation.

The product is available in German and English and contains six localized datasets - German DIN, Neutral Metric, British Standard, Netherlands, USA (Imperial + Metric). The German dataset is optimized according to German DIN building standards.

What's New Highlights for 2023 (23.00.00.xx)

Installer Update
- Side-by-side Installation allows you to adopt OpenBuildings Speedikon 2023 without upgrading your current installation of OpenBuildings Speedikon CONNECT Edition mid-project. For more information regarding configurations, please refer to the Side-by-side Installation wiki and Documentation.
If you already have a previous version of OpenBuildings Speedikon on your machine, OpenBuildings Speedikon 2023 will install as a separate application.
ProjectWise Drive as Companion Feature
- ProjectWise Drive is now included into the installer as a companion feature.
New application version naming and numbering
- Bentley is moving to a more consistent version naming and version number scheme. One notable aspect of this is the use of the calendar year of the original release date, helping users to easily determine the support timeframe for the version. Application Version Name is defined in the following form: <Application name> <Major version>

Unchanged file format
- Although there has been a rebranding to the calendar year 2023, the OpenBuildings Speedikon and MicroStation file format has not been changed.
Integrated MicroStation 2023
- OpenBuildings Speedikon 2023 includes the full MicroStation 2023 functionality except for the Technology Preview Features. More information on the new functionality in MicroStation 2023 can be found in the OpenBuildings Speedikon Help and in the MicroStation Forum.
Security Improvements
- This release includes the latest OpenBuildings Speedikon and MicroStation security improvements. The details will be found on our Trust Center website under Security > Common Vulnerability Exposure (CVE) Program.
ProjectWise 2023 Support
- OpenBuildings Speedikon 2023 is compatible with ProjectWise CONNECT Edition Update 3.4 and ProjectWise 2023. At the time of writing, ProjectWise 2023 had not yet been released. You will find more information in Released Versions and in the ProjectWise Compatibility Tool.

Installation + Configuration:

Please follow these steps to download OpenBuildings Speedikon 2023. If you go directly to Software-Downloads, you will be right at point 5:

Sign in to bentley.com.
At the top of the page click SUPPORT.
Click Download Software and log in.
On the "Software Downloads" page search for "OpenBuildings Speedikon" and select 2023.
Select the language, hit Apply, and then click Download to download the software.

Software Downloads can also be accessed through the desktop CONNECTION Client. Open the CONNECTION Client from the system tray and click CONNECT Center . Scroll down to the "My Services" section and click Software Downloads tile.

The OpenBuildings Speedikon installer includes a link to the Bentley LumenRT Designer as a companion application. You can use this product free of charge. With LumenRT Designer, you can quickly and easily create compelling visualizations.

As a Bentley Systems user with an active Speedikon license agreement, you have a license for OpenBuildings Designer that also includes an OpenBuildings Speedikon license as a "child". Simply also install the latest OpenBuildings Designer from Software Downloads . Select your desired language and click Apply.

Licensing

OpenBuildings Speedikon 2023 uses SES licensing via the CONNECTION client. Further information can be found in the Speedikon FAQ and here.
